  • PHOTOS: Janesville, Christ the King – Missa Cantata – Tridentine Mass Society of Madison

On Sunday 25 October, the traditional Feast of Christ the King, Fr. Peter Lee celebrated surely the very first Traditional Latin Mass – a Missa Cantata ever offered in the Church of St. Patrick, built in the 1960’s.

He was helped by altar boys from the Reedsburg, WI, area where Fr. Lee was last assigned was as well as some fellows from St. Mary’s Oratory in Rockford, IL.  A team effort.
Congratulations to St. Patrick’s parish! This will be of great spiritual benefit.

    Some photos.

His Excellency Most Reverend Donald J. Hying, Bishop of Madison, graciously consented to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation on 102 young Catholics on Thursday evening, 27 August 2020. The rite of Confirmation was followed by Solemn Mass in coram episcopo. The celebrant of the Mass was the President of the TMSM, Fr. Zuhlsdorf. The deacon and subdeacon were, respectively, Fr. Alex Navarro and Fr. Brian Dulli, both of whom, as pastors of parishes, had subjects beings confirmed.

The TMSM is deeply grateful to Fr. Scott Emerson, pastor of St. Mary Goretti parish, where the rites took place. He was great.

  • New violet Solemn Mass vestments are on the way! – Tridentine Mass Society of Madison

I occasionally get checks from kind readers for the Tridentine Mass Society of the Diocese of Madison, a 501(c)(3) organization, of which I am the jefe.  You should know what we are doing with your donations.

Even in this time of the Wuhan Devil, which has shut down a lot of our more solemn liturgy here, the TMSM is still having worthy vestments made against the time when things are brighter.

Here is something that I posted on my own blog. Right now in production by Sacra Domus Aurea is a Solemn Mass set in violet, which will be received by Advent.  I’ve received a few photos of the set as they are being completed.

    The cope…

    The chasuble

    A dalmatic

We will have matching humeral veil, antependium, and tabernacle veil.

    We are moving FORWARD.

Thank you to you donors to the TMSM.  When things settle down a little, I will try to organize a SOLEMN Mass for your intention.

Meanwhile, I will say a Mass for your intention tomorrow, Feast of the Holy Relics.
