Congratulations to Fr. Brian Dulli on offering his first TLM today, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

Starting next week, there will continue to be an 8am Low Mass every Monday at St. Patrick Church in Cottage Grove.

Fr. Brian Dulli will be offering a Low Mass for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Mass will be at on Monday, September 14th at 8am, at St. Patrick Church in Cottage Grove – 434 N Main St, Cottage Grove, WI 53527.

We have now entered the liturgical season of Lent, and thus violet vestments have been the norm for the last three Sundays. The TMSM had been using portions of our violet Pontifical set until recently, so to avoid uneven wear to that set, we have acquired a separate Solemn Mass set.

This new set arrived from Rome in time for the last Sunday of Advent, but we did not have the opportunity to use it for a Solemn Mass until Quinquagesima and Ash Wednesday. Both Masses involved our diocesan vocations director as one of the Sacred Ministers, and Quinquagesima included a seminarian in choro, while Ash Wednesday included a seminarian as a server, demonstrating again that Tradition is very much a part of the future.

In Production: New White Pontifical Set

Our next vestment project is a white set with silver trim and blue moirè lining, which the tailors at Gammarelli have begun producing. This will include a standard Pontifical Mass set, with both a St Philip Neri-style chasuble, and a standard Roman chasuble, plus an extra-large Philip Neri chasuble and dalmatic.

On Deck: New Black Set

After the white set, our next goal will be an improved black set to supersede the relatively cheap set which had to be obtained in a rush for the first of Bp Morlino’s annual All Souls’ Day Pontifical Requiems.

Join the Tridentine Mass Society of Madison in offering a spiritual bouquet for Bishop Morlino.

A Spiritual Bouquet is an offering of prayer and/or sacrifice for the benefit of a soul of another person.
This spiritual bouquet will be a gift of prayer to Bishop Morlino on the occasion of his 15th anniversary as Bishop of Madison, in gratitude for his support and promotion of sacred liturgical worship.

The annual meeting of the Madison Tridentine Mass Society will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in the gym of St. Mary of Pine Bluff parish, 3673 County Highway P, Cross Plains, WI 53528. The meeting will follow Mass in the Extraordinary Form in the church, which will be offered at 5:30 P.M.

On Thursday, 27 August 2020, His Excellency Most Reverend Donald J. Hying, Bishop of Madison, will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Traditional Roman Rite.

The Rite of Confirmation followed by a Solemn Mass will take place at 6:00PM at St. Maria Goretti Church in Madison.

Bishop Hying, as did his predecessor Bp. Morlino, understands that people from outside of the Diocese of Madison may be interested.

Because of constraints on seating capacity in the church as dictated by civil government, it may be necessary to cap the number of people who can be admitted.

There is a deadline for correspondence: no later than Monday 24 August 2020. However, digital correspondence is possible, provided that a hard copy is also sent by mail (or delivered by hand).

St. Cecilia Parish in Wisconsin Dells has just announced that they will be offering Traditional Latin Mass at 12:30pm every Sunday, starting September 27th. The First Sunday of every month will be a Missa Cantata.

Today is the 13th anniversary of the release of the text of Benedict XVI’s Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum. This Motu Proprio established that, juridically, there are two forms of one Roman Rite. Hence, if a priest has the faculties to say the “Novus Ordo”, then he also has the faculties to say the Traditional Latin Mass. Furthermore, it established that pastors of parishes, not the local bishop, can determine how Summorum Pontificum is to be implemented in their parishes.

This is perhaps the most important thing that Benedict XVI did in his pontificate and it will have a significant, enduring effect on the Latin Church, particularly in the face of the demographic shifts in the Church which have been accelerated by the COVID crisis.

Today, please say a prayer of thanksgiving for Summorum Pontificum and for long life of healthy and happy years for Benedict XVI.
