The Tridentine Mass Society of the Diocese of Madison, a 501(c)3 non-profit association founded in 2007 and approved by Bishop Morlino, is a private association of Catholic faithful dedicated to the preservation of the “ancient form of the Roman rite” or Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, using the missal of 1962. The Society consists of lay Catholics drawn from every age group and walk of life who are “strongly attached to this usage of the Roman Rite,” and who reside in the Diocese of Madison. The Society welcomes priests and religious who have great love and affection for this earlier liturgical form and would like remain faithful to tradition.
The goal of the Society is:
- Assisting in the celebration and enhancing the Extraordinary Form in the Diocese of Madison, such as the Mass and other liturgical celebrations as Vespers.
- Reaching out and providing support to other parishes in the Diocese of Madison, which are interested in celebrating it.
- Providing catechesis and education to those who want to know more about the usus antiquior and learn how to attend a Traditional Latin Mass.
