  • About the Society – Tridentine Mass Society of Madison

    The Tridentine Mass Society of the Diocese of Madison, a 501(c)3 non-profit association founded in 2007 and approved by Bishop Morlino, is a private association of Catholic faithful dedicated to the preservation of the “ancient form of the Roman rite” or Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, using the missal of 1962. The Society consists of lay Catholics drawn from every age group and walk of life who are “strongly attached to this usage of the Roman Rite,” and who reside in the Diocese of Madison. The Society welcomes priests and religious who have great love and affection for this earlier liturgical form and would like remain faithful to tradition.

    The goal of the Society is:

    • Assisting in the celebration and enhancing the Extraordinary Form in the Diocese of Madison, such as the Mass and other liturgical celebrations as Vespers.
    • Reaching out and providing support to other parishes in the Diocese of Madison, which are interested in celebrating it.
    • Providing catechesis and education to those who want to know more about the usus antiquior and learn how to attend a Traditional Latin Mass.

  • 27 August 2020 – Traditional Confirmations – Tridentine Mass Society of Madison

    His Excellency Most Reverend Donald J. Hying, Bishop of Madison, graciously consented to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation on 102 young Catholics on Thursday evening, 27 August 2020. The rite of Confirmation was followed by Solemn Mass in coram episcopo. The celebrant of the Mass was the President of the TMSM, Fr. Zuhlsdorf. The deacon and subdeacon were, respectively, Fr. Alex Navarro and Fr. Brian Dulli, both of whom, as pastors of parishes, had subjects beings confirmed.

    The TMSM is deeply grateful to Fr. Scott Emerson, pastor of St. Mary Goretti parish, where the rites took place. He was great.

    This Wednesday, December 4, will be the first anniversary of the interment of His Excellency, Bishop Robert Morlino. To commemorate, we will have a Solemn Requiem Mass to pray for the repose of his soul. The Requiem Mass will be at St Mary’s Pine Bluff, at 6:30 PM.

    This Friday, November 1, is All Saints’ Day, a Holy Day of Obligation. In addition to the usual weekday TLMs, there will be a Missa Cantata at St Mary’s in Pine Bluff at 6:30 PM.     The forty days, which St. Luke tells us in Acts had passed between Christ’s Resurrection and His glorious Ascent into Heaven, are nearly completed. On Thursday, May 30, 2019, at 6:30 PM, we will have a Solemn Mass at St. Mary’s Pine Bluff to commemorate the Ascension of Our Lord.

    We are already well into the pre-Lenten season, and Ash Wednesday is just around the corner. At St Mary’s Pine Bluff, we are planning to have a Solemn High Mass for Ash Wednesday, 6 March 2019, preceded by the blessing and distribution of ashes, beginning at 6:30 PM.

    There will be a Solemn Mass on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells, for the Feast of the Assumption of Mary.

    St. Cecilia Parish in Wisconsin Dells has just announced that they will be offering Traditional Latin Mass at 12:30pm every Sunday, starting September 27th. The First Sunday of every month will be a Missa Cantata.

    Congratulations to Fr. Brian Dulli on offering his first TLM today, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Starting next week, there will continue to be an 8am Low Mass every Monday at St. Patrick Church in Cottage Grove.

    On Friday, February 2nd, 2018, His Excellency the Most Rev Robert Morlino will celebrate a Pontifical Mass at the Throne for the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary (a.k.a. Candlemas). Mass will be preceded by the blessing and procession of candles.

    Location: Holy Name Heights (formerly the Bp O’Connor Center)

    All are welcome to attend the Mass, and bring their own candles to be blessed by the bishop.
