About the Society<\/h1>\n<\/header>\n
\n

The Tridentine Mass Society of the Diocese of Madison, a 501(c)3 non-profit association founded in 2007 and approved by Bishop Morlino, is a private association of Catholic faithful dedicated to the preservation of the \u201cancient form of the Roman rite\u201d or Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, using the missal of 1962. The Society consists of lay Catholics drawn from every age group and walk of life who are \u201cstrongly attached to this usage of the Roman Rite,\u201d and who reside in the Diocese of Madison. The Society welcomes priests and religious who have great love and affection for this earlier liturgical form and would like remain faithful to tradition.<\/p>\n

The goal of the Society is:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Assisting in the celebration and enhancing the Extraordinary Form\u00a0in the Diocese of Madison, such as the Mass and other liturgical celebrations as Vespers.<\/li>\n
  • Reaching out and providing support to other parishes in the Diocese of Madison, which are interested in celebrating it.<\/li>\n
  • Providing catechesis and education to those who want to know more about the usus antiquior<\/em> and learn how to attend a Traditional Latin Mass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n

    The Tridentine Mass Society of the Diocese of Madison will hold our annual General Membership Meeting<\/p>\n

    Sunday, September 13, 2026<\/p>\n

    3:00pm<\/p>\n

    held at 2814 Marshall Ct in the Village of Shorewood Hills<\/p>\n

    <\/main><\/p>\n

    All members are invited to the annual meeting.\u00a0 Anyone interested in becoming a member is also welcome.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Membership:<\/p>\n

    Membership in the Society is open to all of the Catholic faithful who have attained the use of reason, lay or clerical, male or female, secular or religious, are<\/span> evidently of sound mind and good will, and<\/span> \u00a0reside in the Diocese of Madison or in such other Dioceses or regions as the Board of Directors may specify, who: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    • While perhaps preferring the Extraordinary Form Mass based on the Missal of 1962, accept and acknowledge the validity of Ordinary Form Masses celebrated according to the 1969 Missal of Paul VI and its subsequent revisions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Are in communion with the Roman Catholic Church, accept the magisterial authority of the Church in matters of faith and morals, and recognize the ecclesial authority of the Bishop of Madison.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • Agree to abide by the statutes or rules established for the governance of the Society and are committed to assisting or cooperating in some way with other members of the Society, in the fulfillment of the Society\u2019s purpose.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Have requested admission and were admitted to the Society, and if under the age of 18, have obtained the consent of their parents or guardians. If members of Religious order, have obtained the permission of their superiors to join this Society.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
